The Challenges Young Women Face
Outdated Perception
STEM fields are still often perceived as traditionally and culturally geared towards men. This outdated perception creates immediate barriers to entry and interest for many girls.
The Isolation Factor
No one wants to be the only one. The lack of women peers and mentors creates isolation and low belonging, causing many young women to opt out rather than face a male-dominated environment alone.
Locked Out
Women are significantly underrepresented in high-paying jobs and senior leadership. This limits their voice in setting policy and culture, ensuring the problems persist.
How We Help
Ella Rises empowers girls through STEM, arts, leadership, and culture.
Ella Rises is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting underserved young women with hands-on learning, mentoring relationships, leadership development, and cultural pride.

STEAM
We facilitate virtual and in-person STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) workshops to develop and guide participant inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking of STEM related careers.

Ballet Folklorico
Our art program fosters joy, confidence, and creative self-expression rooted in culture through Latin American Folk dance.

Mariachi
We love mariachi music so we have created a female mariachi band! Our mariachi program relaunched in spring of 2025. All levels of music proficiency are welcome! Join us!

The Ella Rises Summit is a day camp packed with activities to give a glimpse of the Ella Rises Experience: art, STEM, and a focus on education!
